...and then came Gary.

God at his computer.

God decided that Jesus' approach was way too colorful and overemotional so he decided to hand over the job to Gary Larson. Like Jesus Gary had a way with words. Unlike Jesus he expressed himself through writing and drawing.

From a very young age Gary showed promise. But in the earlier days reading and writing wasn't mainstream enough and God didn't think people were ready to grasp any of Gary's art. God needed a talker. And so came in Jesus. It wasn't Gary's time to shine just yet.

Jesus had the looks (though recent studies beg to differ), the personality and voice. To top it all off he was quite the magician. Even God was slightly amused every now and then, though most of the time it was for the sake of support.

Unfortunately for Jesus, his greatest strengths and skills led to his own downfall. Despite his time-limited fame Christ's final performance will always be remembered. Until today many still consider it the best trick inspiring famous illusionists such as David Blaine.

During his brother's absence, Gary's skills grew. But God having seen the early curtain drop on his first son's career decided to let some years pass before releasing Gary into a world that was now taking a huge turn of events.
Jesus was no longer allowed to make another comeback after convincing many people that he was not just the son of god, but god himself which brought a number of unfortunate and stressful events. This did not make big daddy very happy.

Now the world has overpopulated, the earth is crumbling, technology is going haywire, Tom Cruise discovered pink (God wasn't too big on the increase of homosexuality gig) and Scientology increasing in popularity something had to be done. Frustration in heaven was growing. God was becoming misunderstood. Too many runours were spreading. It was time to reveal God's second son.

Less words, more pictures. Perfect for an ADHD world (now no longer considered an illness).

Although it was Shakespeare who said that brevity is wit, Gary took this to a whole other level.

For those who were ready to know the truth about life, Gary Larson was their man.

Amen.
