I hate confrontation when it comes to street photography. It makes me uncomfortable. I'd rather be the audience who views the images after they're processed and taken by someone else. Maybe it's because I'm not a people person?
It's a fear. And in order to overcome a fear one has to confront it. In the face, literally. So it was suggested it I start a little project. Every afternoon by the bay a bunch of skateboarders and bikers hang around and do their tricks. For the next few weeks I'll be hanging by the bay every afternoon to document them.
This afternoon was the first day. I met three guys. They were nice and happy enough to do a few tricks for me. I will post some pictures once I've processed some film. It was a nice feeling. I enjoyed meeting the boys. Hopefully some interesting stories will unfold as the days go by. There's one female skateboarder I'm curious with. Sadly she wasn't there today and I had run out of film. Soon hopefully. I wonder if they'll let me try their skateboards.
